Colorado Lottery Games 2026: Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto+, Cash 5 & More

Colorado's Draw Game Lineup

The Colorado Lottery offers six draw games spanning daily digit games to multi-state mega-jackpots. Colorado stands out for two reasons: its unique Millionaire for Life game offering lifetime payouts, and the fact that nearly all lottery proceeds fund outdoor recreation and conservation rather than education. The state applies a modest 4% tax on winnings over $5,000, making it one of the more tax-friendly lottery states. All draw times are in Mountain Time.

Powerball

Colorado participates in the national Powerball game. Pick 5 numbers from 1-69 plus a Powerball from 1-26. Drawings are Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evenings. The Power Play multiplier (2x-5x, or 10x when the jackpot is under $150 million) can boost non-jackpot prizes. Jackpot odds are 1 in 292,201,338. At just 4% state tax combined with the 24% federal withholding, Colorado winners keep more of their prize than players in most states.

Mega Millions

Mega Millions draws 5 numbers from 1-70 plus a Mega Ball from 1-25 on Tuesday and Friday evenings. The Megaplier (2x-5x) multiplies non-jackpot prizes. Jackpot odds are 1 in 302,575,350. Like Powerball, Colorado's low 4% state tax rate makes it an attractive place to win compared to high-tax states like New York (10.9%) or California (13.3%).

Millionaire for Life (5/58 + 1/5)

Millionaire for Life is Colorado's newest exclusive game, replacing Lucky for Life in February 2026. Pick 5 numbers from 1-58 plus 1 Life Ball from 1-5. The top prize is $1 million per year for life (minimum 20 years guaranteed). Second prize is $25,000 per year for life. Drawings are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The lifetime payout structure makes this game unique in the Colorado lineup. Unlike jackpot games where a lump sum is available, the top prizes are paid as annuities only.

Colorado Lotto+ (6/40)

Colorado Lotto+ is the state's flagship in-state jackpot game. Pick 6 numbers from 1-40, drawn Wednesday and Saturday evenings. Jackpots start at $1 million and roll until won. Odds of matching all 6: 1 in 3,838,380 — far better than any multi-state game. What makes Lotto+ distinctive is its random multiplier: every non-jackpot prize is automatically multiplied by 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x, chosen at random for each drawing at no extra cost.

Cash 5 (5/32)

Cash 5 is Colorado's daily ball-draw game. Pick 5 numbers from 1-32, drawn every evening. The top prize is $20,000 (pari-mutuel, can vary). At just $1 per play, Cash 5 offers the most affordable daily action with odds of matching all 5 at 1 in 201,376. The smaller pool of 32 numbers means each number appears more frequently, making frequency and hot/cold analysis especially productive.

Pick 3

Pick 3 is Colorado's digit game, drawn twice daily — midday around 1:30 PM MT and evening around 7:30 PM MT. Pick 3 digits from 0-9, with play types including Straight ($500 on $1), Box, Straight/Box, and Front/Back Pair. With 730+ draws per year, Pick 3 generates the most data of any Colorado game, making it ideal for position-level digit analysis.

Which Colorado Game Should You Play?

For daily action and deep data, Pick 3 (730+ draws/year) and Cash 5 (365 draws/year) deliver the most analysis-friendly volume. For realistic in-state jackpots with a built-in multiplier, Colorado Lotto+ offers the best odds-to-payout ratio. For lifetime income, Millionaire for Life is the only game in the state with annuity-for-life prizes. And for the biggest prizes, Powerball and Mega Millions round out the menu.
