Every Delaware Lottery Game at a Glance

Delaware uses the "Play" naming convention instead of "Pick" for its digit games, but the mechanics are familiar. What sets Delaware apart is Multi-Win Lotto, a unique in-state game where every $2 ticket gives you three lines of numbers, and Lotto America, a multi-state jackpot game shared with roughly 13 states. Combined with Powerball and Mega Millions, Delaware players have plenty of options despite being the second-smallest state by population.

Play 3 — Twice-Daily Digit Game

Play 3 is Delaware's three-digit game. Choose three digits from 0 to 9 and pick your play type — straight, box, straight/box, front pair, or back pair. Draws happen twice daily: the Day draw at 1:58 PM ET and the Night draw at 7:57 PM ET. Straight plays pay $500 on a $1 wager, while box plays offer lower payouts but more ways to win.

With two draws every day generating over 700 results per year, Play 3 is ideal for pattern tracking. Use the Frequency Analysis tool to spot which digit combinations appear most often.

Play 4 — Twice-Daily Four-Digit Game

Play 4 adds a fourth digit to the mix. Straight plays pay $5,000 on a $1 ticket, and box payouts vary depending on how many repeated digits your number contains. Draws follow the same twice-daily schedule as Play 3 — 1:58 PM and 7:57 PM ET. The deeper number pool (10,000 possible combinations vs. 1,000 for Play 3) makes frequency analysis even more valuable.

Play 5 — Twice-Daily Five-Digit Game

Play 5 rounds out the digit game lineup by adding a fifth position. With 100,000 possible straight combinations, hitting the exact order is tougher, but the payouts scale accordingly. Draws are at 1:58 PM and 7:57 PM ET, matching the Play 3 and Play 4 schedule. Box plays and front/back pair options give you flexible wagering choices.

Multi-Win Lotto — Delaware's Unique 3-Line Game

Multi-Win Lotto is the game that makes Delaware's lottery genuinely different. Players pick 6 numbers from 1 to 35, and each $2 ticket automatically generates three lines of six numbers. You can win by matching numbers in a single line or by combining matches across all three lines. This mechanic gives you an overall odds of winning any prize of roughly 1 in 5.7 — far better than most lotto-style games.

Draws happen daily at 7:57 PM ET, making Multi-Win Lotto one of the few lotto games with a draw every single day. The rolling jackpot and daily draw schedule produce a rich dataset for analysis. Check which numbers are running hot or cold with the Hot & Cold Numbers tool.

Lotto America — Multi-State Jackpot Game

Lotto America is a multi-state game shared across roughly 13 states. Players pick 5 numbers from 1 to 52 plus a Star Ball from 1 to 10. Draws are every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, and jackpots start at $2 million. The optional All Star Bonus multiplier (2x through 5x) can boost non-jackpot prizes. With a smaller player pool than Powerball or Mega Millions, Lotto America jackpots grow more slowly but the odds of winning are more favorable.

Powerball & Mega Millions

Delaware participates in both national multi-state games. Powerball (5/69 + 1/26) draws Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Mega Millions (5/70 + 1/24) draws Tuesday and Friday. Both offer massive jackpots and are available at every Delaware Lottery retailer.

Delaware Lottery Tax Info

Delaware's top marginal state income tax rate is 6.6%. Combined with 24% federal withholding, lottery winners face an effective rate of roughly 31% on large prizes. One notable advantage: Delaware winners can remain anonymous, giving prize claimants a level of privacy most states do not offer.
