Minnesota Lottery Draw Games

The Minnesota Lottery offers six draw games spanning daily digit picks to multi-state mega-jackpots. Revenue supports the state general fund and environment and natural resources trust fund. All draw times are Central Time.

Pick 3 (3 digits, 0-9)

Pick 3 is Minnesota's daily digit game. Choose three digits from 0 to 9, drawn every evening at approximately 6:17 PM CT. Unlike most states, Minnesota offers only one draw per day (evening). Play types include Straight ($500 top prize), Box, Straight/Box, Front Pair, and Back Pair. Pick 3 is the simplest entry point for players who prefer digit-based games with quick results.

North 5 (5/34)

North 5 is a daily game unique to Minnesota. Pick 5 numbers from 1 to 34, drawn every day at 6:17 PM CT. The smaller pool size means better odds than most lotto games — approximately 1 in 278,256 for the jackpot. Jackpots start at $25,000 and roll over when not won. The optional EZ Match add-on provides an instant-win opportunity for an extra $1 per play.

Gopher 5 (5/47)

Gopher 5 is Minnesota's signature in-state jackpot game. Pick 5 numbers from 1 to 47 with drawings every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:17 PM CT. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow until won. Overall jackpot odds are approximately 1 in 1,533,939, making it one of the more favorable in-state games in the country.

Lotto America (5/52 + Star Ball 1/10)

Lotto America is a multi-state game drawn Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at approximately 9:20 PM CT. Pick 5 numbers from 1 to 52 plus a Star Ball from 1 to 10. The All Star Bonus multiplier can boost non-jackpot prizes by 2x to 5x for an extra $1. Jackpot odds are 1 in 25,989,600 — much better than Powerball or Mega Millions, with jackpots that still reach millions.

Powerball (5/69 + 1/26)

Powerball draws Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evenings. Pick 5 numbers from 1 to 69 plus a Powerball from 1 to 26. The Power Play multiplier can boost non-jackpot prizes up to 10x for an extra $1. Jackpot odds are 1 in 292,201,338.

Mega Millions (5/70 + 1/25)

Mega Millions draws Tuesday and Friday evenings. Pick 5 numbers from 1 to 70 plus a Mega Ball from 1 to 25. The Megaplier multiplies non-jackpot prizes up to 5x for an extra $1. Jackpot odds are 1 in 302,575,350.

Which Minnesota Game Should You Play?

For daily action, Pick 3 and North 5 draw every day. For the best in-state jackpot odds, Gopher 5 is the choice. Lotto America fills the gap between state games and mega-jackpots with reasonable odds and solid prizes. For the biggest jackpots, Powerball and Mega Millions offer life-changing prizes.
