South Carolina Education Lottery Draw Games

The South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) offers five draw games ranging from daily digit picks to multi-state mega-jackpots. All revenue supports education, including the SC LIFE and Palmetto Fellows scholarships and school construction. All draw times are Eastern Time. Note that midday draws do not occur on Sundays or Christmas Day.

Pick 3 (3 digits, 0-9)

Pick 3 is South Carolina's daily digit game. Choose three digits from 0 to 9 with midday draws at approximately 12:59 PM ET and evening draws at 6:59 PM ET, seven days a week (no midday draw on Sundays or Christmas). Play types include Straight ($500 top prize), Box, Straight/Box, Front Pair, and Back Pair. The optional FIREBALL add-on gives players a second chance by replacing one drawn digit with an extra FIREBALL number, creating additional ways to win.

Pick 4 (4 digits, 0-9)

Pick 4 works the same way as Pick 3 but with four digits. Midday draws at 12:59 PM ET and evening draws at 6:59 PM ET, daily (no midday draw on Sundays or Christmas). The Straight top prize is $5,000. FIREBALL is also available as an add-on for Pick 4, offering extra winning combinations by substituting one drawn digit.

Palmetto Cash 5 (5/42)

Palmetto Cash 5 is South Carolina's in-state jackpot game. Pick 5 numbers from 1 to 42, drawn every evening at 6:59 PM ET. Jackpots start at $100,000 and roll over when not won. Overall jackpot odds are approximately 1 in 850,668. The game includes a built-in multiplier — non-jackpot prizes can be multiplied by 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x at no extra cost. The multiplier is drawn automatically with each drawing.

Powerball (5/69 + 1/26)

Powerball draws Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evenings. Pick 5 numbers from 1 to 69 plus a Powerball from 1 to 26. The Power Play multiplier can boost non-jackpot prizes up to 10x for an extra $1. Jackpot odds are 1 in 292,201,338.

Mega Millions (5/70 + 1/25)

Mega Millions draws Tuesday and Friday evenings. Pick 5 numbers from 1 to 70 plus a Mega Ball from 1 to 25. The Megaplier multiplies non-jackpot prizes up to 5x for an extra $1. Jackpot odds are 1 in 302,575,350.

Which South Carolina Game Should You Play?

For daily action, Pick 3 and Pick 4 draw twice a day (once on Sundays). For the best in-state jackpot odds with a built-in multiplier, Palmetto Cash 5 is the choice. For the biggest jackpots, Powerball and Mega Millions offer life-changing prizes.
